The Rendezvous Race (25k & 50k), West Yellowstone, Saturday, March 8th.

Congratulations to four Whitefish skiers who placed third in their categories at the Rendezvous ski race in West Yellowstone. In the 50K, Cindy Weaver, Brenda Winkler, and Jim Rucker placed third in their age groups. In the 25K, Rita Braun also placed third in her age group. Mary Schwada from Whitefish placed 7th in her category. And Marshall Opel, a former GNST skier and now skiing for MSU in Bozeman, placed 4th in his category and 7th overall.
Thick layers of slush covered the trails leading up to the race. though Mother Nature struck her magic wand over the course two nights before race day. The temps dropped. The course firmed up. All racers jumped for joy.
